Verso Vision supports new Compass Hospital in Turku
In late October 2025, Tyks Turku University Hospital opened the doors to its new Compass Hospital (Kompassisairaala), the most advanced psychiatric hospital in Finland. The project was designed together with patients, placing their needs and experiences at the center of planning.
A new era in psychiatric care
Compass Hospital represents a major step forward in psychiatric care in Finland. The facility offers:
- Three times more space for patients, with single rooms that provide both privacy and safety.
- Family accommodation – rooms where relatives can stay overnight with their loved ones.
- Relaxation and sensory rooms on every ward to create calming environments.
- Continuous interaction between patients and nursing staff, ensuring that no one feels alone.
This patient-centered design creates a therapeutic environment where safety, dignity, and comfort are prioritized.
Verso vision ensures safety from day one
We at Verso Vision are proud to support Compass Hospital from the very beginning. Started in December 2025, our AI-powered fall prevention and safety system has been in daily use.
Verso Vision helps staff by detecting risks such as patients leaving the bed or experiencing a fall. Alerts are sent directly to existing nurse call systems, ensuring that nurses can respond immediately. The system reduces falls, improves patient safety, and supports staff in their challenging work.
Collaboration for safer care
With Compass Hospital, Tyks sets a new benchmark for psychiatric care facilities in the Nordics. By combining modern design, patient participation, and innovative safety technology, the hospital provides an environment where patients feel safe and supported throughout their care journey.
