HUS highlights Verso Vision in their internal magazine

Verso Vision has been in daily use at Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) for several years. The solution was originally co-developed together with HUS starting in 2017, and today it is in use across multiple university hospitals in Finland.

Recently, HUS published a story about Verso Vision in their internal magazine Husari (article in Finnish). In the article staff from Heart and Lung Center, ward 6B, where Verso Vision is actively used, were interviewed.

It provides a first-hand perspective from nurses and practical nurses who work with the system every day.

“Verso brings us additional security” – HUS nurses on Verso Vision

The article describes how Verso Vision’s AI-powered monitoring helps nurses detect fall risks early and react quickly. Alerts are triggered when a patient shows signs of getting out of bed, leaving the room, or actually falling. Instead of adding new apps or devices, the alerts are integrated directly into the existing nurse call system, ensuring staff can respond immediately.

According to the staff interviewed, the system brings “irreplaceable security”, especially for patients who tend to wander. One nurse explained how an alert helped her reach a patient just in time, before a fall occurred.

The article also highlights the broader impact of fall prevention. Hospital falls are among the most common safety incidents, and even when no serious injury occurs, they lead to additional tests, longer hospital stays, and higher costs. By reducing falls, Verso Vision not only improves patient safety but also supports staff efficiency and reduces the economic burden of inpatient falls.

Part of a wider implementation

HUS notes that Verso Vision is already in use in several of their hospitals, including Meilahti Tower Hospital, Bridge Hospital, Peijas Hospital and Jorvi Hospital. The technology has proven to integrate well into different care environments and patient groups, from elderly patients to those with medical tubing or dementia.

Recognition from HUS users

For us at Verso Vision, it is meaningful to see our solution featured in HUS’s own publication, praised by the very people who use it every day.

Their feedback confirms what we strive for: safer care environments, reduced workload for staff, and better outcomes for patients.
